This year's Grandparents Day at Eastwood Heights was a heartwarming success, bringing families together to celebrate the special bond between generations. We were thrilled to host two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon to ensure all families could participate. The event featured an array of exciting performances and engaging activities, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
Guests were treated to performances by Eastwood High School's talented Trooperette dance team, the vibrant Eastwood High folklorico dancers, and the enthusiastic Eastwood high school cheerleaders, who filled the room with energy and pride.
After enjoying the entertainment, grandparents were invited to enjoy a selection of delicious sweet bread paired with refreshing lemonade. The treats provided a cozy setting for grandparents and their grandchildren to relax, socialize, and share stories.
The event also featured a variety of interactive activities designed to foster connection and creativity. Students and their grandparents collaborated to create family trees, capturing their unique family history. Some took the opportunity to interview their grandparents, asking thoughtful questions about their lives and experiences, while others spent time reading books together, fostering a love of learning and storytelling across generations.
This special day would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our school’s leadership team, PTA, and the many volunteers who gave their time and effort. Their commitment ensured the event ran smoothly and created lasting memories for all who attended.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this Grandparents Day one to remember. We look forward to continuing this cherished tradition next year!
